Why this Tool
I am assuming you are familiar with Entrecard and the concept of earning credits for "dropping your card" on the sites you visit, if not and you have a blog or website that needs to be discovered, go to Entrecard and check it out!
I liked the concept of the multiple launch button on the Entrebar, I used it a lot every day, but I had no Idea what sites were going to open and I found the Inbox auto launch was full of Trojans, re-directs, deleted accounts and a host of other annoyances, DID SOMEBODY SAY GHOST?
So after at least a dozen crashes using the Entrebar Inbox launch button, this Dropzone Tool is my Defense Against the Nasties. This is the list of sites I drop on now, and I know what is going to open when I click a button. (usually)
How to use this tool to make drops quickly
Click a button to launch ten sites, wait a minute while they are loading, once the first few widgets finish loading, click the next button to launch the next ten sites.
Go to the first sites that finished loading and start dropping, when you catch up to loading sites, click the third button to launch the next ten sites, go back and close sites you've already dropped on then launch the next ten sites, start dropping again and repeat till you're done.
Individual results vary depending on your system and connection speed and are likely to fluctuate through the day.
When my system is running fast, I may have 20 to 30 sites opening in the background while having maybe 20 pages loaded to view, drop on and close.
When my system is slow, I may have to re-load a few sites that time out or don't finish loading the EC widget so I use one button at a time or ten sites to minimize mis-loading pages.
Help Reduce Everyone's Bounce Rate using this tool!
If you leave sites open longer, their bounce rate will improve.
Try using this tool in cycles with three, four or more buttons opened at the same time. (if your system can handle it)
Have one button launching sites, one button with sites loaded ready to view, comment, drop and spend a little time on and one (or more) buttons you have finished viewing and are ready to close. Launch one more button then start closing sites that have been viewed and continue a rotation of opening and closing till you are done.
When I use a rotation like this, most sites are actually open in a tab for a several minutes as I surf from tab to tab dropping as I go and stopping when something catches my interest. Everyone behind that site might be open an extra five minutes and maybe five more two blogs down If I find something interesting there. It's not rare for me to have a set or two open for half an hour if there is a lot of fresh content.
If everyone using this tool uses this method all the sites will remain open longer and their bounce rate will not be so adversely affected by drop and run tendencies of the Entrecard Members. |
